We currently have an opportunity for an experienced PR & Communications Manager to join the Metricon National Marketing Services team on a 10-month Maternity leave contract. You will be responsible for the successful implementation of strategies focusing on consumer communications, internal communications, philanthropic partnerships and corporate communications, to continually build brand awareness nationally and enhance positioning

Reporting to the National Marketing Services Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Proactively pitch editorial and leverage media spend to maximise proactive and reactive media coverage;
• Write responses, briefs and media releases for any media inquiries regarding product, events and partnerships;
• Manage and maximise results from influencer outreach;
• Collaborate with the digital & social teams on content creation;
• Together with the Events Producer, develop customer events that offer newsworthy content for media and influencers;
• Leverage and manage sponsorship properties;
• Lead issues & crisis management;
• Implement financial, business & property media relations;
• Pursue corporate brand profiling opportunities;
• Internal mission, vision & values communication;
• Launch a portfolio of philanthropic partnerships aligned with Metricon’s business;
• Provide communication counsel to all business units; and
• Deliver monthly reporting to the business around the PR activity generated and bi-annual reports for senior management.

The successful candidate will have:

• A communications career spanning 8+ years (some agency experience preferred) specialising in consumer PR;
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of on organisation;
• A sound understanding of the role PR, sponsorship, philanthropic, social, digital and experiential have in an integrated marketing and communications strategy;
• High attention to detail;
• Excellent organisational skills and deadline focus;
• Proficient in developing communication assets with exceptional writing and editing skills;
• A sound understanding of the real estate, building and home design media and PR landscape;
• Innovative, collaborative and creative thinker; and
• Works well both autonomously and as part of a team
