Working collaboratively with the RMS and the Lend Lease Bouygues Joint Venture (LLBJV), Transurban is delivering NorthConnex, a $3b tolled motorway, linking the M1 at Wahroonga to the M2 at West Pennant Hills. It will provide drivers with a much-needed alternative to the Pennant Hills Road.

We have a brilliant opportunity for a savvy engagement professional to join our Corporate Affairs team in the role of Community and Stakeholder Engagement Manager - NCX. In this permanent position, you’ll work with our construction contractor to deliver a range of community relations and stakeholder engagement activities for the project.

The impact you'll have:

• You'll assist in the delivery of a clear engagement strategy for all aspects of the NorthConnex interface with both external and internal stakeholders
• You’ll identify community and stakeholder impacts the project may have and work with project partners and internal stakeholders to mitigate or limit these.
• You'll provide communications and engagement advice and leadership for the project team and play a key role in the developing and implementing engagement strategies and activities associated with construction.
• You'll assist in maintaining Transurban’s profile and reputation with key project stakeholders in New South Wales, including RMS, local councils, businesses and communities.
• You’ll use your strong knowledge of media to manage key relationships to bring significant outcomes

• You’ll be adept at developing effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholder groups, often in challenging, time pressured situations.
• You'll possess a strong track record in stakeholder and community engagement positions, ideally supporting major projects.
• Utilising your intuition and nous, you’ll have a natural ability to identify positive opportunities and potential reputational issues and provide mitigation strategies.
• You are a strategic thinker, with strong planning and organisational ability.
• You'll bring a demonstrated understanding of politics at both at State and Federal level.
• You'll possess exceptional verbal communication, public presentation and interpersonal skills aiding your ability to develop credibility and trust with stakeholders.
• You'll thrive in a high-pressure environment and deliver within tight deadlines.
• You're an enthusiastic self-starter who brings energy and passion to the role

If you have tertiary qualifications in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or the like and have experience working on large infrastructure projects in a highly regulated industry, this would be highly advantageous.
