About us
Plant Health Australia (PHA) is the national coordinator of the government-industry partnership for plant biosecurity in Australia.
As an impartial, non-profit company, PHA facilitates and manages improvements in biosecurity policy and practice across Australia’s plant industries and the environment, and helps build capacity to respond to plant pest emergencies.

About the role
PHA is seeking to employ a Communication Officer to primarily support PHA’s extension programs.
By working with program area managers and the Communication Manager the Communication Officer will be required to:
- identify strategies to support communication aims
- write and produce suitable content and products, including articles, newsletters, media releases, fact sheets, social media content and web site content
- manage WordPress web sites
- procure appropriately branded collateral.
The Communication Officer will hold tertiary qualifications in communication, science communication or a related discipline and have excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
