Greater Whitsunday Alliance (GW3) is the regional economic development organisation for the Mackay-Isaac-Whitsunday Region. The organisation with the funding assistance of the Local Buying Foundation is looking to establish a full-time presence in the Isaac Region to deliver a business support program.
The role will have responsibility for establishing and maintaining professional relationships with business and industry sectors, stakeholders and relevant government departments in the Isaac region to support business growth and sustainability.
The successful applicant will possess the following attributes: -
- Must be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the current industry and business environment within the Isaac region and be able to develop effective working relationships with people across all levels of business, industry, the community and government.
- Have experience in regional economic development, local content procurement and supply chain development, investor attraction, business analysis and evaluation, marketing and communications in regional or rural Australia.
- Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, communication and liaison skills, with emphasis on the areas of engagement, advocacy, networking, consultation and negotiation.
- Experience in the preparation and presentation of reports and submissions of a complex and substantive nature.
- Be analytical with the ability to initiate, implement, monitor and evaluate new strategies and research projects.
- Have proven experience in working with businesses to facilitate, manage and coordinate business development and support initiatives.
- An affinity for the Isaac region and / or regional Australia and have a genuine passion for its future prosperity and sustainability.
- A current C Class Drivers Licence.
A qualification in the areas business, marketing, regional development, sustainable development, communications, community development, planning would be highly regarded.
