The Role
Reporting to the Manager - Operations West and based in our Kalgoorlie office, you will service our customers primarily in the Goldfields. This position is an important customer facing role involving the service and support of MST technologies and other 3rd party mining related technologies. As a Communications Technician, you will perform service and repair work both in the Kalgoorlie workshop and onsite. You will perform your duties and ensure that all work activities are executed according to the scope of work. At all times you will carry out your tasks in a manner required for successful project delivery ensuring that you meet MST quality and safety expectations.
Your Background
- Trade qualifications in communication/electronics
- At least 3 years' experience in mining in a Communications role
- Communication tower maintenance experience
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Be able to pass a mine medical and regular drug and alcohol screens
- No criminal record
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Unrestricted drivers licence
- Knowledge of Ethernet and Wi-Fi
- Antenna Theory
- Coaxial, Cat5, Fibre Terminating and Repairs
- Use of Windows based and Windows Embedded PC's
- Use of cable termination tooling
- Open Cable License
- Soldering Skills
