Toll People are currently seeking a Diesel Mechanic to service and maintain company vehicles and equipment. This position includes working on all makes and models of trucks and trailers including Rigid Trucks, Prime Movers and all types of trailers.

The successful applicant will have a high level of trade skills and knowledge to fault find and diagnostics to assist in the prevention of break downs or unexpected down time of machinery.

You will joining a supportive team based at Dry Creek and will require good communication skills with Divisional Managers, Supervisors, Equipment Operators and Workshop Staff.

You will be responsible for

• Experience with all types of mechanical (Diesel & Petrol) auto electrical / hydraulic repairs

• Maintaining written job cards and records as required

• Welding (oxy,arc,mig)

• Carrying out vehicle breakdown including prevention of breakdowns

• Fault find and diagnostics

To be successful in this role you will have

• Heavy Diesel Mechanic Trade qualification

• 3+ years post trade experience

• Product and general technical knowledge couple with well-developed analytical skills

• Basic computer skills

• Sound communication skills both written and verbal

• A proven commitment to working safely and compliance with all site safety standards

• Ability to work with minimal direction

Pre-Employment you will be required to pass a National Police Clearance, pre-employment medical and a drug and alcohol screen.
