About the business and the role

Leighton O'Brien is Australia's largest provider of Underground Fuel tank management, Tank and Line testing and Fuel Tank Cleaning service. We provide Tank integrity testing and Tank Cleaning as well as Ground Water Monitoring services to all major oil companies and a wide variety of commercial clients.

As our Tank Integrity and Cleaning services grow – we have an exciting opportunity for a Field Technician.  This great opportunity gets you out on the road, working predominantly in the metro area with occasional country and interstate travel.

Job tasks and responsibilities

As a Field Technician, you are responsible for conducting safe and efficient activities in the field for all Leighton O'Brien activities in a professional manner. The core responsibility of this position is to carry out Tank and Line Testing utilizing a specialist proprietary technology for in situ tank and line testing whilst ensuring all HSE guidelines are met. Secondary duties include but not limited to Tank cleaning and ground water monitoring and acting as a spotter/assistant for confined space entry requirements.

You will be provided with full training and given the physical nature of the position, you will need to be healthy and capable of the physical aspects of the role. Reliability, punctuality and the ability to work un-supervised is essential. This role comes with a company vehicle, lap top and mobile phone.

Skills and experience

The role requires an independent person who ideally would have a trade or mechanical type back ground to join a strong team of technicians.  You must have a current manual driver's licence (Medium Rigid driver's licence an advantage) and an excellent driving record. Your work day will start at home from where you will mobilise to site after receiving job instructions from your Operations Manager based in the Melbourne head office.

As a Field Technician you must be able to work co-operatively with other team members and have a team oriented work style, as well as the ability to work independently.

This is a great full time role that would come with extensive one on one training until the sign off process is complete.
