Do you have a strong background in Data Protection? Are you looking for an opportunity to put your project management skills to excellent use? If so, this could just be the role for you.

Imperial College London is looking to appoint a Data Protection Manager (Projects) to work within its Advancement Division. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that the data at the heard of our alumni relations, events and fundraising programmes are used, stored and transported in the safest possible way.

To be successful in this role you will have in-depth knowledge of the current DPA, the upcoming GDPR and the practical application of this, ideally within the context of membership services, charitable fundraising and/or Higher Education. In doing so, you may draw on experience gained in such roles as: Data Protection Manager, Project Manager, Project Officer, Data Protection Officer, Information Manager, Information Officer or Paralegal.

Your duties will be wide ranging, but ultimately you will be responsible for:

  • Engaging stakeholders across the Division with this project and helping them understand how they may need to adapt their work methodologies and get buy in for that change.
  • Ensuring senior leadership are briefed at appropriate points and equipped with the best information to inform decision making
  • Leading the review, and updating documentation of Advancement's data protection protocols.
  • Developing and directing a consent campaign to gather relevant permissions to continue engaging with over 200k constituents (alumni, donors, volunteers, event attendees, etc.)
