Short Introduction/Summary

The Programme and Portfolio Manager will be a member of the IT&S senior lead team and will report direct to CIO.  They will work with the wider team to deliver a portfolio of projects and programmes across IT&S and the Institute. This is a senior role and the person will be responsible for working with the IT&S senior management team and a range of stakeholders from a variety of levels across the organisation, including Directors, Heads of functions and other business owners.

Project Scope/ Description

The aim of this role is to support IT&S and the Crick leadership to achieve an optimised mix of IT&S project investments, making the best possible use of all resources and delivering the maximum value and benefits from projects and programs within the portfolio.  The position includes ownership of oversight across project and program resources for all initiatives within the IT&S project portfolio.  It will be a primary resource to the IT&S senior executive and wider Institute governance for communication and reporting of the portfolio initiatives.

The post holder will also act as a centre of excellence for project management in the IT&S function and will have direct management of some projects.

The Francis Crick Institute is a biomedical discovery institute dedicated to understanding the fundamental biology underlying health and disease. Its work is helping to understand why disease develops and to translate discoveries into new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, stroke, infections, and neurodegenerative diseases.
