Salary: £29,301 - £31,076 (with progression to £38,183)

The main purpose of the Bioresource Coordinator (maternity cover) is to facilitate the collection of tissue for medical research, to enable these collections to be used as a valuable biological resource. The Bioresource Coordinator (maternity cover) will be responsible for ensuring that sample collection, relevant data collection, sample storage requirements are adhered to and good governance is followed. Duties will include managing the application process, implementation of systems necessary for safe and ethical collection of tissue samples to ensure full compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, liaison with relevant staff, and leading study set up meetings for delivery of the Bioresource projects.
You will have relevant experience in a research, scientific, project management, pharmaceutical or medical environment role, with a good level of literacy and numeracy with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
Self-confidence, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent organisational skills are required and knowledge and understanding of regulatory issues, specifically with regard to the Human Tissue Act or medical ethics is desirable.
