Job PurposeThe post-holder will contribute to a research study aiming to understand the relationship between pain and self-harm in adolescents working with Dennis Ougrin (Principal Investigator, King’s College London), Helen Minnis (Co- Investigator, the University of Glasgow) and other co-investigators. Specifically, the job requires expert knowledge in the mental health and physiology of abused and neglected children and in assessing children as well as experience in liaising with children’s services for the purposes of recruiting adolescents to research.
The post-holder will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this challenging project, as opportunities allow.
Standard Terms & ConditionsSalary will be on the University’s Research and Teaching Grade, level 6, £27,629 - £31,076 per annum.
This post is full time and has funding available until 31 October 2019.
New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period of 6 months.
The successful applicant will be eligible to join the Universities' Superannuation Scheme. Further information regarding the scheme is available from the Superannuation Officer, who is also prepared to advise on questions relating to the transfer of Superannuation benefits.
