We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Analytical Services Facility Manager to join the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences (SBCS) of Queen Mary University London. The role holder will have overall responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of all research and teaching activities in the Analytical Services Facility. The successful applicant will liaise with and provide technical support for academic researchers, external collaborators and other technical staff and managers over the provision of the service. Responsibilities will include working closely with health and safety coordinators to ensure policies are followed by all users through the provision of appropriate training and enforcement of rules. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with academic or industrial chemical and biochemical researchers and be experienced in the capabilities, maintenance and trouble-shooting of analytical equipment, particularly in the field of mass spectrometry.

The post is full time, permanent and it is anticipated that the start date will be mid-October 2017. The salary will be in the range of £36,064 - £42,431 per annum and will be inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
