Salary Range in the range: £36,800 – £44,220 per annum
(Maximum salary on appointment is £36,800 per annum)
Two Fixed Term appointments for up to 24 months
We wish to recruit two research associates to work on an industrial and Innovate UK funded project on automotive manufacture technologies. The positions will focus on the patented HFQ® (HFQ® is a trade mark registered by Impression Technologies Ltd) forming technique for aluminium alloy and on the joining techniques for HFQed parts.
You must have (or expect soon to obtain) a PhD (or equivalent) in an area relevant to hot stamping or adhesive/hybrid joining. A combination of experimental and analytical modelling skills will be required (the balance of these will depend upon your role in the project and can be discussed at interview).
Essential experience includes
- Previous experience in field of the mechanics and deformation of metallic alloys including processing, forming and the resulting material microstructure.
OR
- Previous experience in one or more joining technologies including for example adhesive bonding or riveting.
*Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as Research Assistant within the salary range £32,380 - £34,040 per annum.
