Detail information about job Senior Academic Development Advisor. Terms and conditions vacancy
The Learning and Teaching Institute invites applications for a Senior Academic Development Advisor to work alongside the small central team of Academic Development Advisors and a wider group of Senior University Teaching Fellows. The successful candidate will contribute to the full range of activities undertaken by the Learning and Teaching Institute, including: designing, teaching, and assessing modules on the PG Cert/MA Learning and Teaching in Higher Education; devising and delivering workshops and events relating to learning, teaching, and assessment; and supporting and assessing colleagues engaged in the HEA-accredited “Chester Enhancement and Recognition Scheme” and “Teaching and Learning Essentials for New Teachers” programme. The role also offers opportunities to engage in University-wide projects to develop policy and practice in teaching and learning, and to work with both academic and support staff to enhance the student experience and student success.
To undertake this varied and interesting role, we are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and engaged individual with research-informed interests and ideas on practice, who is interested in beginning or furthering their career in academic development. You will have relevant previous experience in Higher Education, and Senior Fellowship of the HEA (or be working towards it) and hold (or be prepared to complete) a doctoral level degree. You will be able to demonstrate experience of working effectively in teams, and seeing complex projects through to successful completion. You will also be able to offer specialist expertise in at least one area of academic development to complement existing expertise in the LTI. This might include, for example, supporting students from a wide variety of backgrounds; inclusive practice in teaching and learning; or supporting teaching and learning in STEM disciplines.
Informal enquiries are welcome, and should be directed to Dr Kate Litherland, Head of Academic Development and Enhancement ([email protected]).
