The Head of Teaching and Learning will report to the Director of Academic and Organisational Development, and will coordinate the work of the Centre for Learning Excellence team to support delivery of the University’s strategic plan through teaching and learning that supports student achievement at all levels, assures quality and standards, and is recognised by stakeholders as an area of excellence for the University.
With a detailed knowledge of higher education pedagogy, QAA experience, and an ability to take accountability for progress against targets, the Head of Teaching and Learning will lead, promote and support developments in teaching, learning and assessment practices that sustain high quality outcomes.
In this capacity they will lead on staff development in teaching and learning, monitor the quality of teaching and learning against internal and external metrics, and plan and track enhancement progress, leading and coordinating the contributions of the team in supporting change and development.
