ABS offers a comprehensive range of reproductive technologies applicable to the livestock breeding industry. The company employs 30 staff, all based in the Waikato.
The lab technician will work within the Artificial Breeding Team and will be part of a small team processing semen from bulls, rams, bucks and boars. Duties will include preparation of extenders, assessment of, processing , and freezing of semen.
The ideal applicant will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Previous experience in a similar position would be an advantage although full training will be provided
- Laboratory experience is essential
- Sound knowledge of laboratory techniques
- Good computer literacy and communication skills
- Must be a team player and highly motivated
- Detail focused – high attention to detail
The hours will be 42.5 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday.
