The Masonic Waitara is a historic NZ Hotel. In business since 1848. Recently renovated in 2014, we have 8 lovely guest rooms, a licensed Eatery- Wayfinders & a genuine kiwi public bar with gaming.
Our small friendly team are looking for a someone who is a Host with the Most , honest, reliable & down to earth. Who will spin a yarn with the locals and the charm the house guests, while being efficient and organised with great management skills, to run our bar & accommodation areas & staff.
You will:
- Ensure our great customer service standards are maintained. We love good reviews.
- Ensure the operational aspects of the bar & accommodation such as stock replenishment & stock takes, cash management, gaming machine requirements, guest bookings and invoicing through our reservation system are well managed.
- Work together with our Eatery Department to organise and provide functions, plan events & promotions.
- You will be rostered on to work a shift in the bar/ office and be responsible for rosters and organising staff to cover shifts and leave etc.
- Provide regular sales, & stock reports
- Ensure any maintenance or Health & Safety issues are addressed efficiently as required.
We are in the Main Street of Waitara, a 2 minute walk from the Rivers edge, and a 10 minute walk to the beach and yet only a 15 minute drive from New Plymouth. All the benefits of a small town, with the City at our doorstep. Staff receive a 30% discount for meals.
You must have a current LCQ and Bar Duty Managers licence, have experience in managing staff, be a great communicator who has good computer skills, can use MS excel,Word and answer emails etc. You will be responsible for our legal requirements under the Sale of Liquor & Gaming Acts.
