Our guests choose to stay with us because of the unique location, amazing views and the excellent service throughout their stay. The Hermitage is not just the hotel, we work closely with the Mount Cook Lodge and Motels to ensure that no matter where someone is staying they receive the same great service to a high standard.

Our Housekeeping team are a key factor in ensuring guests have a comfortable room to go back to after a day of exploring the unique outdoor environment or simply to relax in a peaceful and beautiful part of the world. The Housekeeping team don't just work in the hotel, they are also responsible for the Hermitage, Chalets, Lodge, Motels, Public Areas and some areas of Staff Accommodation.

What your day will look like

Working across a variety of areas, you'll be offered a diverse opportunity to work in the hotel, chalets, lodge and motels. This helps to mix it up and add a bit of variety to your day, week, or season.

You'll be responsible for:

• Following cleaning procedures and using the correct cleaning materials when servicing and cleaning guest rooms
• Using all hotel equipment according to health and safety regulations and instructions
• Working as part of the team to ensure efficiency
• Restocking trolleys, the linen room, and supply cupboard at the end of each day
• You may also be involved in assisting to clean and maintain standards across public areas and staff accommodation

About you

Our teams live and work together so it's important that you have a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the hospitality industry. While previous experience in a cleaning or housekeeping environment is an advantage, we provide all training to ensure that you are up to speed with our products, our services, our standards, and our expectations. With an eye for detail, you should be flexible with a can-do approach and looking to learn throughout your time with us.

• Applicants should be legally entitled to work in New Zealand, although assistance to obtain this may be provided for some roles.
• All positions at Aoraki Mt Cook Alpine Village Ltd have accommodation provided as part of our unique lifestyle package, with the weekly board & lodgings rates including three meals a day and power. Due to the idyllic, isolated location of Mt Cook, you will need to be comfortable working and living in a remote location.
