We are recruiting for a Systems Accountant for a 12 month fixed term contract.
This position will analyse Council's financial information needs by reviewing existing systems and working out the best way forward to ensure the relevant accounting, financial and revenue modules are being used optimally and that the financial reporting is meeting the team’s and organisation’s needs. This will involve evaluating current accounting and finance systems and undertaking projects in relation to changes to processes, financial reporting, system enhancements and new implementations.
As Systems Accountant you will be responsible for ensuring comprehensive business requirements are documented, test plans are written and testing is conducted prior to new systems or changes being implemented.
To be successful you will have:
- Tertiary level business or accounting qualification
- Proven experience in financial report writing, modelling and creating SQL queries
- Ability to work with a wide range of people
- High degree of accuracy in both data recording and providing information
- Knowledge and experience in improving processes and systems
