Our Orderlies support patient care by safely moving patients and items around the hospital at the right time, to the right place, in a courteous, professional and well-presented manner, which contributes to the effective day-to-day operation of Orderly Services at Wairau Hospital.
Due to the nature of the work you must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Previous Orderly experience is not essential, but would definitely be an advantage.
You will be passionate about delivering a quality service and be an excellent communicator.
It is essential that you are:
- physically fit and active with knowledge of heaving lifting techniques
- able to manage time effectively
- experienced in customer service
- a great communicator.
And have:
- the ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Hotel / Porter / Orderly or Security Worker experience (advantageous).

As this is a casual position, working as and when required to meet service needs, (covering weekend, weekday and night shift across a 24/7 roster), it is important that you have the flexibility to cover a range of shifts and to sometimes work at short notice.
