The New Zealand Police Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) has a vacancy for a fulltime Intelligence Supervisor. The FIU are the recipient of suspicious activity information that is reported to us from the private financial sector. Using this information we contribute to anti-money laundering efforts, the investigation of organised and transnational criminal groups, and the disruption of terrorist financing through supporting investigations by Police, Government agencies, and international law enforcement.
 

As an Intelligence Supervisor you will manage the allocation of workloads and staffing to ensure the intelligence unit provides reliable accurate and timely intelligence products to decision makers, District intelligence units, the National Intelligence Centre and other clients. The purpose of this role is to lead and enable the team to deliver Our Business.

We are looking for an intelligence professional who:

  • Has superior interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to influence thinking and behaviour
  • Has experience in building and maintaining positive and productive working relationships both internally and externally
  • Inspires and motivates their team and who is committed to staff and development
  • Exercises sound judgement managing the allocation of workloads and staffing
  • Can comprehensively understand, lead and direct intelligence processes and activities

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of intelligence processes and management
  • Broad based experience in a range of policing activities
  • An ability to develop and maintain relationships with key partners
