As one of Government's larger regulators, Regulatory Services aims to minimise harm and maximise benefits through effective oversight of anti-money laundering and countering financing terrorism, gambling, digital safety regulatory systems.  We are a responsive risk-based regulator that uses innovation and collaboration to maximise our impact to achieve desired outcomes for New Zealand communities.

We have an opportunity for an experienced official correspondence professional to provide expert advice and leadership across the group. You will be responsible for managing official correspondence, including OIAs and privacy requests, across our gambling, digital safety and anti-money laundering regulatory systems. You will also lead improvements in our official correspondence processes and systems, and initiatives to build our correspondence capability.  The Senior Business Advisor (Official Correspondence) is a trusted advisor to our senior managers and helps effectively manage risks relating to official correspondence, particularly in respect to complex and sensitive items. 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven experience in effective management of official correspondence processes
  • Strong knowledge and sound understanding of the machinery of government, including the Official Information and Privacy Acts and other information law such as the Public Records Act
  • The ability to identify risks, apply effective mitigations and consistently use sound judgement on complex and critical issues
  • Excellent relationship management and influencing skills
