The opportunity
Aucklanders have a relationship with Auckland Council as citizens, customers, and ratepayers. Our role is to provide engagement solutions to the council to ensure the views and opinions of Aucklanders are considered by our decision-makers.
Engagement Activation Specialist will advise council in the technical design and delivery of engagement activities to the views of Aucklanders to our decision-makers. You will provide thought leadership to ensure council strategic engagement processes consistently deliver to best practise and industry performance standards and provide a robust evidence base from which to inform decision making.
Working with an increasingly diverse population, you will also ensure the council is compliant with statutory requirements in the design and delivery of compelling and innovative community engagement opportunities that all Aucklanders enjoy participating in.
About you
An engagement professional with experience in a range of stakeholder and community engagement related roles. In addition, you will have the courage to try to do things differently to achieve agreed outcomes. Prior experience in developing and implementing fact-based strategic and tactical engagement plans to enhance civic participation and build trust, particularly with diverse communities, is highly desirable as well as being a strong communicator and influencer.

Working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday you will have flexibility with how those hours are set. Some of our people begin early, some stay later, some work a day from home.
