Vehicle Adaptions are a small, reputable, Christchurch based company, who have been established for over 25 years. Specialising in vehicle modifications for disabled drivers and passengers across New Zealand.
They are very well known within the vehicle disability industry and have an excellent reputation for building solutions and being innovative to assist people’s needs. The team take great pride in their workmanship and provide a high quality of service.
As the company continues to experience growth they are looking for an exceptional, positive, hands on, customer centric Workshop Engineer / Technician to compliment their team.
Reporting to the Modifications & Training Manager within a small, highly motivated team your daily activities will include:
- Modifying existing vehicles for our disabled clients
- Working closely with external parties (therapists) to find bespoke solutions for client’s needs and to engineer the vehicles to LVVTA specifications
- Completion of workshop duties in an accurate and timely manner
- Ability to handle all customer queries and relationships internally and externally with suppliers in a friendly and professional manner
- Development of new & current products as opportunities arise
- Pro-actively look to identify new sales opportunities for the business where required
In order to be successful in this highly motivated and dedicated team of professionals you will need to demonstrate the following:
- 2-5 years in a similar workshop position and environment with an strong, engineering and mechanical background
- Engineering trade qualification
- Strong TIG, MIG & alloy welding experience
- Experience operating a lathe
- Fabrication experience with the ability to think outside the square to problem solve solutions
- Basic understanding of auto electrics would be an advantage
- Clear evidence of outstanding customer service
- A willingness to learn new things, work unsupervised & be a strong team player
- Ability to interact with people from a variety of backgrounds
- Ability to manage and resolve conflict situation
- High levels of motivation and initiative
