Our client is the state-owned enterprise responsible for electric power transmission in New Zealand. As the owner of the National Grid it provides the infrastructure of electric power transmission that allows consumers to have access to generation from a wide range of sources, and enables competition in the wholesale electricity market; as System Operator it manages the real-time operation of the grid and the physical operation of the electricity market.
Us as a leading EHV power cable manufacturing and engineering service provider, we are currently planning to supply and install 220kV underground power cables including jointing and termination for the power project happening in Auckland and we need highly-experienced civil expert to join our team for this particular project.
To be considered for this role you will need to have.,
* Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transmission line projects involve voltages between 132kV and 500kV
- Review existing line and utility drawings.
- Familiar with EHV cable system design including joints and termination.
- Prepare permit drawings and coordinate with AECOM (Civil design contractor).
- Attend and participate in project site review meetings.
- Coordinate material requisitions and delivery; review AECOM's calculations and report.
- Perform simple foundation design.
- Coordinate with CAD operators to develop organized, high-quality CAD drawings.
* Qualifications and things to note:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the same industry.
- Proficient with MS Office software. (MS word, MS Project, MS Excel..)
- Understanding and ability to utilize AutoCAD program.
- Must be detail oriented and maintain professionalism at all times. "Client First" approach to all interactions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong self organizational skills is a must.
- A great work attitude and be a team player.
- Full legal driver licence holder.
