The opportunity
Tauranga is the largest city in the Bay of Plenty and one of the fastest growing population centres in the country. With a booming local economy the region is popular with families and holidaymakers. Over 200 people from 10 different engineering disciplines work out of our Tauranga office, which has a depth of knowledge and exciting office culture that enables our people to play a huge role in the day to day life of people in the Bay.

Reliable, accurate and timely asset data is the foundation for efficient and effective management of Roading assets. Through our existing engagements with both NZ Transport Agency and Local Authority clients we have an exciting opportunity for a Road Asset Technician to join our high performing team.

As a Road Asset Technician your responsibilities will be to support the senior asset data managers in the maintenance and updating of the asset management database and the delivery of condition surveys. Specific duties include:

  • Road asset inventory database management
  • Field collection and population of asset inventory database with as-built renewal, project and vested asset data including integrating with existing data
  • Supporting the delivery of road and footpath condition rating surveys including field quality assurance checks
  • Assisting with asset inventory data validation surveys and data improvement activities
  • Providing data outputs for analysis need
  • Undertaking desktop audits of inventory and maintenance activity data
  • Preparing condition trends reports
  • Data quality reviews of automated condition survey data

About you
Your experience to date will have given you a good understanding of Roading assets, in particular carriageway surfacing and pavement construction as well as condition surveys associated with asset management programming and planning.

You will couple your excellent data management skills with a working knowledge of RAMM (including RAMM Network Manager, RAMM Manager and RAMM Contractor), knowledge of Microsoft SQL and a proficiency in Microsoft office packages
