About the Company
South Pacific Industrial Ltd is a privately owned, medium sized engineering company with workshops and project work in Ruakaka, Auckland and the Bay of Plenty.
Due to our current client and project requirements we are seeking an experienced Welding Inspector to be a part of our Business Services Team in Ruakaka.
About the role
Welding Inspection is key to our manufacturing process and the delivery of high quality fabrication is critical to our clients.
In this role you will be reporting to the Business Services Team Manager and coordinating with areas such as:

Planning

Estimation
- Fabrication
In this position you will be required to:
- Complete visual & dimensional inspection of welds

Complete detailed company & client Quality documentation
-
Ensure welding obligations meet design specifications
-
Arrange NDT and other external inspections as required
-
Assist and advise on internal welding processes to meet clients requirements

Develop any WPS's to ensure compliance with welding codes
-
Witness welder & procedure tests
-
Track Welder qualifications
-
Provide interpretations of the requirements of codes standards & specifications

Assist with company QA/QC tasks
We are seeking candidates with the following skills and attributes:
A positive team member
CBIP Proficiency Certificate - Welding Inspection
Previous Piping experience
Previous experience in a similar position
Working knowledge of ASME B31.3
Proficient at interpretation of Isometric & shop spool drawings
Strong verbal and written communication skills
