Aquaheat New Zealand is one of the leading air-conditioning and mechanical services businesses in New Zealand, operating nationwide. As a result of a strong forward work position we are now on the hunt for a motivated, ambitious person to join our Auckland team. We are looking for someone who can confidently take control of on site issues in order to assist the Project Manager to maximise revenues whilst maintaining quality standards, staff morale and customer relations.
Projects will range in size and complexity and your ability to apply your skills and experience across the Department, our Site Team, sub-contractors and our clients is vital to your success in the role.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervision of subcontractors to ensure quality, safety and programmed requirements are met;
- Ensure risk assessments, safe work methods etc are signed off and received from sub contractors prior to start on site. Provide copies to the contractor and ensure copies are provided to the project quality engineer for filing on site.
- Implementation of risk assessments, safe work methods, quality control by sub contractors;
- Co-ordination of programmed activities;
- Co-ordination of deliveries and crane lifts in conjunction with the main contractors.
- Initial point of contact for subcontractors;
- Issue of requests for information relative to site requirements as required;
- Ensure all employees and subcontractors are inducted prior to commencing on site;
- Conduct regular quality management and safety inspections on all aspects of the work.
Skills and experience required to be successful in the role:
- Desirable to hold a tertiary or trade qualification
- A minimum of 5 years experience in the mechanical service/air-conditioning industries either in New Zealand or Internationally.
- The ability to understand engineering drawings, specifications and suppliers technical literature.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, multi-tasking ability, delegation and ability to make decisions.
- MS Outlook, Excel & Word to a basic user level.
