Because of growth opportunities a contract position has become available which would suit an intermediate Quantity Surveyor.  Working from your own/home office with regular contact with the main office you would undertake estimation and QS work with site visits from time to time.

 This Role

With flexible hours and work flow the role will include:

• Building bottom-up budgets, consulting from time to time with the developer and relevant trades contractors
• Budgets need to be developed with flexibility for adding contingencies, variations etc.
• Recommending provisions / clauses in contracts to achieve desired level of legal and commercial robustness
• Measuring quantities and pricing labour, materials, plant and subcontractors
• Building a detailed project plan with timelines and milestones
• Verification of progress claims
• Carrying out thorough cost analysis in post tender stage to maximise profit

 To be successful you will need:

• Technical understanding of residential and commercial construction projects
• Ability to quantify costs, at a granular level for property projects, and benchmark against industry standards
• A Cost Estimator and QS background, however, this may suit a qualified builder with a depth and range of proven experience
• The ability to prepare required outputs in a format and quality that will meet industry standards
• Efficient organisational and planning skills with an eye for detail
• To be a clear communicator
• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying preferable with minimum of five years’ experience
