Customers we provide solutions for include Power authorities, automated machinery builders and intelligent factory networking. There is a strong demand for networking devices in factories, linking existing legacy serial devices and remote connectivity, all whilst ensuring proper security. Our sales people work closely with the engineer to learn what the application parameters are and then offer a solution that will allow the customer to achieve their objective.

To be successful the person will need a good fundamental knowledge of IT networking, experience and understanding in Factory and Machine automation such as Ethernet IP and ProfiNet, also Scada & PLC experience would be an advantage.

Part of the role will be based in the Hamilton office where you will be responding to daily enquiries from our customers, offering quotations, processing orders and providing technical support. The role also includes at least 1 to 2 days a week out in the market visiting customers throughout New Zealand and discovering new opportunities. The person we are looking for will be a natural relationship builder, sales hunter, able to give presentations to a highly technical audience and thrive on adding value for customers by understanding their individual challenges and offering solutions that will help the customer achieve their goals.

Being both sales and customer service focused you will be a key cog in the company’s growth strategy with targets and rewards aligned with the company’s business drivers. You will be well organised and resourceful with the right attitude to hunt for new opportunities to achieve sales results.   

MOXA is the main product group that this role will promote, they have a very comprehensive training program in place that we send our sales and technical staff to for training and testing. The training allows staff to achieve unit standards to become a MOXA certified engineer. Even though training is provided it is still important for the person to have some previous fundamental knowledge in IT networking.

 

The type of person we are looking for will have:

  • Networking experience with time spent in the industry
  • Previous technical sales experience  
  • Ability to build strong professional relationships with customers at all levels of an organisation
  • Be highly motivated, able to work just as effectively as part of the Automation Team and the larger Company Team as well as being driven and disciplined when working on your own
  • Ability to discover and develop new prospects, provide product demonstrations and product training
  • Demonstrated motivation to keep yourself up to date with current technology
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, able to interact effectively with a broad range of customers.
