Our client is a manufacturer and supplier of building products, representing some of the biggest names within their industry.  They are looking for an Area Sales Manager to take their products to the market, which includes construction products and equipment and tools.
  
Your patch will cover Central Auckland to South Auckland, you will be responsible for implementing and executing the company’s business strategy to their customer base to deliver on sales targets. However, you will be given the autonomy to run your territory as your business; there will be no hand holding, so you must be confident in your ability.
  
Although you will be maximising spend with the existing customer base, you will be responsible for developing new business in your region and growing the portfolio of clients.  Therefore, you must possess the ability to successfully manage current clients while actively calling on new potential customers, via identifying sales opportunities and cold calling.
  
You will be predominantly working with builders, contractors, engineers and architects.  Needless to say, you will be an effective communicator, somebody who shows initiative and drive.  But in terms of experience you must be proven in sales and be adept with reading engineering drawings, preparing quotes and presenting technical information.
  
This role presents a great opportunity for someone who wants to own and become the marshal of their territory.  My client also offers a very competitive package- base salary $85k + 10% bonus + vehicle.
