We are a growing business and are seeking an experienced, autonomous and engaging Health and Safety expert to support the business in implementing and further developing our Health and Safety systems and practices. Reporting to the GM Operations in a key cross functional role, you will utilise your passion and deep understanding of Health, Safety and Environment to lead and deliver best practice H& S across the NZ business. This unique opportunity will give you the chance to:

  • Develop and implement Health and Safety management systems effectively
  • Monitor and audit safety practices, providing leadership and coaching
  • Educate the team and enhance capability and understanding
  • Project manage the roll out of any health and safety initiatives
  • Ensure all records are in line with legislative, industry codes of practice, and best practice requirements
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement, training and prevention within the business
  • Plan, develop and implement safety training including safety induction for new staff.
  • Conduct H&S reporting including recommendations for future improvements and programs.
  • Assist with the site management of our Te Awamutu plant

To join our great team, you will ideally have a qualification in H&S with at least 8 years’ experience working in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Mechanical/engineering experience would be an advantage. Naturally you will have exceptional attention to detail, be able to work autonomously and provide expert advice as well as implement your recommendations. This role requires domestic travel to assist all our business sites, including our beekeeping operations.
