The Ministry of Justice provides a range of justice services around New Zealand. We have more than 3000 people working across 120 locations around the country, all working towards our vision of a safe and just New Zealand.

Here at Justice we are embarking on an ambitious two year recruitment workplan to reshape how we attract talent. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the way we recruit our talent, building a customer centric approach.

This is not an operational recruitment role. You will be working in the strategic space so we need a bold visionary who never loses sight of the big picture to lead this piece of work. You will be supported by a small but passionate team and have resources in the service lines to support your work.

Key to your success is the ability to build trust quickly through sound recruitment advice and knowledge. Working with our managers you will help them solve recruitment challenges and build an awesome candidate experience. You will design and deliver training programmes to build manager capability. You will be open to testing and piloting recruitment technology as we move to a technology enabled recruitment approach, but you're no magpie, and you won't get too distracted by shiny new things- you'll be able to find the balance of technology based efficiencies while maintaining the ‘human touch'.

Skills and experience required:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual. You'll need the following:

• experience working with Senior Managers within a large, complex organisation,
• people leadership skills,
• confidence and experience developing and delivering strategic work plans to attract the right talent and provide a consistent candidate experience,
• you will need to be an excellent communicator and negotiator, and feel confident to challenge some of our existing processes with managers,
• solid experience with applicant tracking systems, experience with Springboard would be a distinct advantage.
