About the role:

Fulton Hogan is currently experiencing a rapid growth phase, with a lot of new projects and staffing requirements in the pipeline.

As a result, we are in the hunt for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our team as soon as possible.

This role is responsible for:

  • Delivering presentations to daily Tool Box Meetings and monthly Divisional Meetings on Health and Safety matters
  • Perform daily inspections on assigned sites or business units to ensure they continue to be compliant under the Health and Safety Act
  • Carrying out investigations as required
  • Instigate Wellbeing Programs for staff as required
  • Reporting
  • Auditing
  • Developing and implementing new methods for improving health and safety awareness across the business
  • Build relationships with people at all levels of the business with the aim of growing a Zero Harm working environment
  • Build relationships with clients to ensure good communication and collaboration

 

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Confident communication skills
  • Prior experience of managing Drainage and Waste Water work sites from a HSE perspective (ideal)
  • A background in the construction/civil contracting industry (ideal)
  • 8 – 10 years’ worth of experience in a similar Health and Safety Advisory role (necessary experience)
  • A Diploma in Health and Safety from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and personal resilience
  • A full, clean Class 1 New Zealand Driving Licence
  • A high level of personal health and fitness
