About the role

Working as part of a high performing System Test Team, you will get to work on some of our key projects. You will work on complex systems across different platforms and environments. There are lots of interesting challenges which ensure the work is varied and engaging. You will be involved in test system and test case design, automation, execution and maintenance of manual and automated test suites. You will get the opportunity to apply a range of different test methodologies including exploratory test methods within a range of different contexts. Tait products and solutions end up in diverse and often harsh environments so we do some pretty heavy testing.

Your responsibilities will also include:

• configuring and debugging network-based test tools and environments
• test design, execution, regression testing and exploratory testing
• setting up of test tools and test environments according to the provided test specifications
• development, setup and maintenance of automated systems for both hardware and software
• reporting on test results and preparing issue reports
• working with the cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues.

About you

Holding a tertiary diploma or degree in telecommunications, electronic or computer related discipline, you will also have relevant experience in designing, maintaining and executing manual and automated test suites and exploratory testing.

You could have a Software Engineer background with experience of networking or a networking background with experience of automation. You are someone that loves testing, who is a strong communicator and has the desire to share and learn from colleagues whilst working in high performing test team. Working with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues, you will be able to demonstrate proven exposure to Agile methodologies.

The right attitude is vital. The perfect candidate would be described as a flexible team player with an inquisitive mind, strong problem solving and analytical skills who is eager to learn and able to switch context rapidly.

Your experience will also include:

• experience in installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting network and security-related software and hardware is essential
• existing programming experience at an intermediate level (ideally Python or any Object orientated programming language) is essential
• experience with radio systems would be an advantage
• a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher qualification would be beneficial
• strong knowledge of switches, routers and firewalls is desirable
• experience with tools such as Wireshark and Putty or similar would be beneficial.
