The role:

This is a permanent position sited at our offices in Mt Eden and the successful candidate will report to the Infrastructure Manager.

The Support Engineer is responsible for supporting internal and production environments to ensure the infrastructure and systems meet ongoing business requirements. This position focuses on the support of information services at a company-wide level. IT is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires a flexible and adaptable incumbent who is able to remain optimistic and positive when faced with pressure and change. The support of all Infrastructure services to all locations can necessitate after hours work to assist in the resolution of faults and/or project work as necessary. International travel may be required.

What we are looking for:

Your passion for IT, thirst for knowledge and relentless attitude will be key to driving your success in this position. We expect you to have an excellent eye for detail along with sound troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Your ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritise tasks to ensure timely resolution will also be essential. We need a highly proactive person whose communication style is clear, specific and easy to understand both in written and verbal form. You will need to be confident in your abilities and be willing to step up to the challenge. We love a charismatic personality, a sense of humour and a flexible team player.

This is a new role within our business that would suit a driven Support Engineer with some experience looking to advance their career.

The essentials:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Proven experience in a support environment and knowledge of networks
  • Experience in virtualization and IT infrastructure

Demonstrate an knowledge or an understanding of support/administration for:

Microsoft

  • Server 2012/2016
  • Active Directory
  • Group Policies Objects
  • DNS
  • DHCP
  • DRFS
  • Office 365
  • SQL Server
  • SCOM

Firewall

  • VPN knowledge
  • Authentication technologies  
  • Remote Access
  • Application and content filtering
  • Application based protocols

Network

  • IP address schemes
  • VLAN traffic segmentation
  • IP Bandwidth monitoring

Prefer:

  • An interest in and some knowledge of the financial markets
