The purpose of this role is to carry out 2D and 3D data capture, maintenance and dissemination for Auckland Airport using BIM software.

Auckland Airport is taking a proactive approach to BIM and is undertaking multiple large-scale design and construction projects using BIM software. This role integrates consultants' design and as-built model data into a campus wide federated model, which is used across the business to assist future decision making.

Key functions in this role:

  • Check incoming model data to ensure it meets agreed company delivery standards
  • Ad Hoc field inspection and scanning work as required for minor updates to existing BIM data sets
  • Integrate new models into the airport's federated model
  • Validate and maintain new and existing BIM models and datasets to meet agreed company requirements
  • Work with the GIS team to ensure that BIM and GIS data align.
  • Develop and administer processes and systems for capturing new BIM data

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Certificate/ Diploma/ Degree in a related field, eg. Architecture, engineering, building science or ideally a minimum of five years work experience in a related field
  • Ideally five years BIM Technician experience
  • Understanding of model production using BIM Authoring tools (Revit or ArchiCAD)
  • Understanding of the building construction process
  • Experience with model coordination software. (i.e. Solibri, Navisworks, Synchro)
  • Good customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
