What will you do?
As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for the design and estimation of solutions to address key business initiatives in accordance to this company's technology roadmap.
As a Senior Solutions Architect you will play a lead role in terms of architecture policy, frameworks and governance.
A day in the life:
Your day could include, but will not be limited to:
- Leading solutions designs based on enterprise and solution architecture principles
- Proposing solutions, technologies and developments to meet strategic business initiatives and requirements
- Leveraging industry knowledge and best practice in all aspects of enterprise architecture, solution architecture and design methodologies
- Maintaining in-depth knowledge of the company's technologies and architectures
- Creating and maintaining the company's technology roadmap
- Leading, implementing and ensuring adherence to architecture governance controls and reviews
- Creating and maintaining overview systems documentation showing key systems, integrations, technology in use using best architecture modeling standards
- Reviewing methods, tools and processes for architecture, development, test and deployment, recommending right sized solutions that will help to improve the company's delivery maturity.
- Mentoring team members as required
- Identifying market trends, efficiencies and improvements
- Working with the CIO, technology leadership team and business leaders on various projects as required
Your background, skills and experience:
- A minimum of seven years experience in comparable roles
- Significant experience in defining enterprise and solution architecture across major IT systems
- Experience designing and governing integration projects with internal, vendor and remote delivery teams
- Significant experience participating in the successful implementation of major IT transformation projects
- An industry wide understanding of 'best practice' across tools, methodologies and technologies
- Detailed experience in building awareness and business cases for implementing IT transformation
- The ability to orchestrate the design and estimation of solutions that compromise hardware, software, package, bespoke development, and cloud solutions.
- The ability to design solutions using tools that leave persistent solution architecture documentation (e.g. Rational, Star UML, Sparx EA)
- Highly developed analytical skills and strong influencing skills
- The ability to effectively negotiate at a senior level
- TOGAF or similar architectural certifications
- Experience in an agile environment
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
