ABOUT THE COMPANY
Capital and Coast DHB (CCDHB) is located centrally in Wellington and has the equivalent of around 4,300 full time staff, making us a major employer in the Wellington region. We are also the leading provider of a number of specialist services, including neurosurgery, oncology, neonatal intensive care, and specialised mental health services, for the upper South and lower North Islands, a population of about 900,000 people. Our DHB has an annual budget of more than $1 billion, which we use to deliver health services directly and contract external providers to provide care, such as general practices, rest homes and pharmacists.
CCDHB operates two hospitals – Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua – as well as the Kapiti Health Centre in Paraparaumu.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The SMO Administrative Co-ordinator sits within the Wellington Blood and Cancer Centre and will provide administrative co-ordination to the Senior Medical Officers (SMOs).
They are the point of contact for other clinicians to liaise with the Wellington Blood and Cancer Centre SMO's. This role manages the interface between patients, ward clerks, booking clerks and other departments, so as to ensure administration systems run smoothly and information is available when needed.
This includes administration and co-ordination of tasks such as word processing, minute-taking, coordination of clinic template changes, booking of travel and publishing of SMO rosters.
The ideal candidate for this role would have experience in an administrative role, thorough computer skills, excellent organisational skills and be dynamic and eager to work as a part of a great team in a busy environment.
DUTIES
- Word processing/administrative duties
- Minute taking
- Point of contact for staff needing to make appointments/contact other clinical staff
- Publishing of SMO rosters
- Booking of travel for SMOs
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook preferable
- Previous experience in administration including minute taking
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills
