This exciting role which will see you involved in the sole co-ordination of the Mental Health Act and its governing legislation within Southland and surrounding areas. You’ll be a member of our wider Mental Health Administration team, however this role requires a level of autonomy and decision making that sets you apart.

The main focus of the role is to become knowledgeable and be able to advise our service around the Mental Health Act, working closely with Community Mental Health teams and others in the community in regards to ensuring all legislative requirements are met effectively and efficiently. Included in the role are senior administrative functions such as minutes and diary management; interaction with our Psychiatrists, including scheduling of emergency cover and leave rosters; compilation of Continuing Medical Education (CME) training and a variety of other tasks.One day you will be working with the Family court providing Psychiatrist reports around client’s status, and the next you will be organising locum doctors with HR to cover periods of leave. Variety is definitely on offer here!

Being such a specialised role we are looking for someone forward thinking, skilled and not afraid of the challenge. Experience within a health setting is desired but not essential.What is required is a positive attitude, great computer literacy, the ability to obtain and convey technical/legislative information accurately and effectively. A minimum of 3 years work experience in a more senior administration role is essential.
