Villa Maria Family of Wineries, which includes Villa Maria, Vidal Estate, Esk Valley, Thornbury, Te Awa, Left Field and Kidnapper Cliffs are building a new winery located near the Gimblett Gravels. The winery will focus on production of premium wines from white and red grapes harvested in Gisborne and Hawkes Bay.
The Role:
Reporting to the Cellar Manager, we require individuals who can demonstrate expertise in all aspects of winemaking. Duties vary depending on the work area, and include running presses, tank racking’s, blending, barrel work, wine additions, loading/receiving tankers, and cleaning. Proficiency is expected on most equipment and SOP’s and requires the ability to prioritise tasks while undertaking several responsibilities simultaneously.

Working with a small team of highly motivated people who are committed to both, the wine industry and pursuit of excellence. The role is highly physical and would suit fit and healthy applicants with an interest in the industry. We require intelligent, self-motivated people with a hands-on approach. Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to multi-task are essential. A strong health & safety focus will underlay a primary quality ethic. Experience in the wine industry and an interest in wine would be an advantage.
