Well, we’ve got the job for you!! Skillwise works under a charitable trust in the disability care sector, with a mission to deliver outcomes posed by the questions above. After a small reshape of the management team, there’s now an exciting opportunity to lead a committed team of people providing services to people with intellectual disabilities that help them live fulfilling and valued lives.
Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll oversee the development and delivery of programmes involving café services, theatre and art room. It’s expected that you’ll generate interest and support in other innovative services. The role includes ensuring that all facilities in which clients work in their programs are used optimally and fit-for-purpose. Your role will include staff and financial management, service delivery, modelling expectations for emotional intelligence and culture, and activities that enhance relationships with the community that facilitate a broad range of opportunities for clients.
You’ll need a good track record of performance and achievement in the sector, ideally in a service and leadership role, a high level of organisation and interpersonal skills, sound judgement and the ability to nurture teamwork. Ideally, you’ll have an interest and aptitude for optimising space and equipment, and ensuring a healthy and safe workplace..
