We have an opportunity available for Social Workers to join our Auckland Youth Justice Team, based in Grey Lynn and also a poosition in the Panmure site. We are a dynamic, diverse and creative team with a passion for getting things right for rangatahi, whanau, victims and communities.
We are looking for positive people who can help our team support young people to accept responsibility and reduce re-offending by:

• helping create dynamic and solution focussed plans which re-engage youth with education and life opportunities
• ensuring that youth voices are heard in the Family Group Conference and Court process
• empowering whanau to engage with the work we do, Family Group Conferences, and Court proceedings
• completing thorough assessments, working alongside youth, and partnering with agencies and stakeholders to get wrap around support in place.

You will have a passion for working with youth and will love making a positive difference in the lives of others. You will also have a tenacity to overcome everyday barriers and an ability to build strong relationships and drive positive outcomes.

We work as part of an overall community approach with partners in Police, Courts, Health, Education, NGOs and Iwi. We see ourselves as part of the overall coordinated community response, and if you believe you have the necessary skills and qualifications, we would love to hear from you!

• a salary between $46,867 - $72,301 (commensurate with skills and experience)

Preference is given to those who have:

• the ability to connect with youth and quickly build rapport
• strong communication skills (you will need to write succinct, factual and audience appropriate court reports)
• strong analytical skill – to enable a strong case plan to be effected and that if complied with, will likely reduce reoffending. 
• resilient, motivated and driven character
• experience working with young people
• flexibility to work after hours duty roster
• strong computer literacy (typing and web navigation)
• full clean valid driver's licence without conditions.

You must have a Social Work Qualification that is recognised by the New Zealand Social Work Registration Board (SWRB) or have full SWRB registration and current annual practising certificate (APC).
