About the role
As a Social Worker you will work directly with children and families/whānau in their own environment helping to develop resiliency, reinforce positive parenting, and assist children and families/whānau to access community resources.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with families and whānau to assess the needs of children and tamariki.
- Create and monitor action plans using appropriate interventions and the resources available to assist the client family/whānau.
- Contribute to the development of group programmes and deliver them to children and families/whānau to reinforce this one-to-one work
- Support families to use their strengths, support networks, and resources independently to develop greater resiliency and maintain a positive and safe environment for their children and family/whānau within their community.
Skills and experience
Some of our work can be quite challenging so you will need to be resilient, flexible and come with a positive attitude. You will be working with a passionate team of social workers who are working hard for Kiwi kids. To be successful in the role you will be:
- A social worker with a recognised SW qualification
- SWRB registered or currently applying for registration
- Competent working with social work models and theories
- Previous experience working with case management framework
- Experienced working with vulnerable children and their families/whānau
- Experienced with evidence based parenting strategies
- A confident and competent group facilitator and strong communicator
- Holder of a current clear NZ driver's licence.
