Lecturer - Infrastructure Works

The Universal College of Learning is a government-funded Institute of Technology, with campuses in Palmerston North, Whanganui, Wairarapa and Levin. It meets the needs of local communities and industry by providing tertiary level training to over 6,400 students each year through a wide range of programmes from entry level certificates and foundation courses to diplomas' degrees and opportunities in post graduate study.

UCOL's School of Construction and Engineering has an exciting opportunity available for a motivated and passionate Lecturer looking for a permanent full-time position based at our Palmerston North Campus. The successful candidate will have the relevant skills, knowledge and experience to deliver entry level infrastructure works.

As a member of UCOL's School of Construction and Engineering you will have the ability to inspire others to pursue and achieve their dreams by offering them quality teaching, mentoring and motivation. You will engage, support and motivate the students to achieve their Certificate, the first step to achieving their dream.

This position will require you to be hands on, facilitating one on one learning, mentoring and motivating students, leading practical skill development and working with students individually, so your well-tuned rapport building and communication skills will be required.

You will have diverse skills including a relevant industry qualification along with industry experience; experience in basic traffic controlling, and also hold wheels, tracks and rollers with practical applications of these. It would be a strong advantage if you also held the National Certificate in Adult Literacy & Numeracy Education (NCALNE, the Certificate in Adult Teaching (Advanced) (CATA) or equivalent and unit 4098 workbased assessor
