Stuart and Carlyon Limited is a well-established professional financial planning company providing independent holistic advice including portfolio management.  We seek a highly motivated person to assist with day to day workflow, client administration and portfolio reporting. 

We are a small collegial team focusing on tailored solutions for high net worth clients. Our business model is geared around unparalleled service.  We are not commission-based, so our team is focused always on clients rather than products.  We are proud of our brand and our consistent business growth over the last 13 years is due exclusively to referrals from our clients and other professionals in law and accountancy.

As a Financial Adviser Associate you’ll learn the very diverse aspects of our advice and investment management process. You will work alongside one of our principal advisers with on-going contact with new and existing clients in this non-sales position. 

The variety of processes we undertake (transactions, portfolio analysis, compliance) will provide you with a constant challenge, (there’s a lot to learn), but also the opportunity to grow as a financial planning professional.  If you’re looking to gain a wide set of skills and end-to-end client experience, this is the perfect environment for somebody committed to a long career in the profession.

You will possess:

  • Truly excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Initiative, flexibility and a willingness to handle the peaks and pressing deadlines such as tax time at the end of the financial year
  • A strong sense of integrity
  • A focus on providing exceptional client service with attention to detail
  • Strong time management and organisational skills 
  • Proficiency in using Excel, Word and client database systems.  
  • Knowledge of or experience in financial markets and investments with confident numeracy skills
  • A positive level of passion and open curiosity about the wider world around us: news, arts, music, travel

Your previous experience may have been in a financial or professional services business, but we’re more interested in seeing where you plan to take your career. The role will likely appeal to someone with a tertiary qualification with several years’ work experience.   Alternatively, it would suit someone returning to the workforce who is keen to learn.
