The Company
Our client, a strong NZ established manufacturing company is looking for a charismatic addition to their team to provide support for their stainless steel heavy fabrication division. The company has a full to over flowing order book and therefore the business is seeking someone to ensure that these orders get out the door on time and according to budget.
  
The Role
We are looking for a Production Planning/Procurement professional to join our client’s team based in Christchurch in order to take on the responsibility for planning, purchasing, scheduling, and project managing work through the Christchurch plant. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking for a new challenge in their career. You will report to the Branch Manager and have two direct reports, namely the Contracts Engineer and the Storeman.
  
The company is not involved in high volume production line products but design and manufacture one off projects for a range of NZ and Australian heavy industrial projects. These could range from food and dairy production projects to transportation and heavy industry or Oil & Gas projects etc.
  
The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

• Preferably Trade Certificate / NZCE Mechanical
• 5 + years of procurement experience
• Planning, Purchasing, Scheduling, and Project Management experience within the engineering / manufacturing sectors
• Proactive approach and can work well with teams
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate with a wide range of people
• Problem analysis and problem-solving
• Experience working within Quality Management Procedures i.e. ISO9001 is ideal
• Microsoft Office competency
• Flexibility
