I am looking for an experienced despatcher to join a reputable transport company based in South Auckland.
This is an ideal role for someone that is looking for a career and potentially wants to advance through the ranks.
You need to have a good understanding of road transport in New Zealand and most importantly a very strong knowledge of Health & Safety and its importance.
You will be:
- Route planning
- Co-ordinating loads
- Checking drivers paperwork
- Liaising with staff & management
- Ensuring statutory requirements are met
- Customer Service
You need to have excellent attention to detail and computer skills.
This is a role that needs a calm operator - the office can be busy and at those times you are the one that must stay on task.
The drivers are your core people, so working alongside them, having good customer service skills and working as part of a team are all attributes that are required.
This role does need someone that has despatched vehicles for a road transport company in the past, if you have been a driver that would be good, but this isn't crucial.
This is a Monday to Friday role, however some Saturdays could be on the cards. Salary is dependent on experience.
