VetSouth is a privately-owned group of veterinary clinics and distribution assets servicing the rural sector in New Zealand and Victoria in Australia. Headquartered in Southland, the business provides clinical services for both production animals and domestic pets through a network of practices in Southland, Otago, Westland and the Waikato. VetSouth has ambitions to expand its clinical presence and distribution footprint both nationally and internationally.
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will work closely with the Chief Executive in driving richer commercial insight across the Group and enabling more informed decision making on procurement and M&As. They will work to raise the standards of financial information, insight and reporting across the business to better inform decision making. This role requires a client focus and ability to both appreciate and react to the growing commercial awareness of farmers as customers. While sound financial acumen is a prerequisite, the CFO will also improve the communication of strategic and commercial information between practices and with the Board, giving enhanced visibility to both the challenges in the organisation as well as opportunities for innovation.
The CFO position will also be responsible for the Company Secretary role. This will require duties such as shareholder administration, board and SMT meeting management, and various secretarial duties.
A strong technical background is required and could come from an early career in professional services or corporate finance, where economic modelling and transaction analysis are prevalent. Strong networks among external services firms and banks are advantageous.
