Our client is a one of the largest non-food manufacturers in the Hawkes Bay Area, specialising in timber products such as pallets and farm fences. To meet increasing demand, they are now looking for a Maintainer Operator Team Leader to lead a team of operators on the processing line.

Reporting to the supervisor, this is a hands-on production role suitable for an experienced or senior operator with technical/ mechanical aptitude, as this role 
involves knowing the functions and procedures of the machine in depth and being able to troubleshoot issues in an efficient manner. Leading a team of 6, you will ensure that all production procedures are being followed, including setting up the machines correctly, having the raw material prepared properly, ensuring all final products are of good quality, etc. 

In summary, the requirements of this role are:

• Production operation experience in an automated manufacturing environment (timber industry highly desirable)
• Mechanical aptitude
• Experience in setting and diagnosing machines (repair and fault finding highly desirable)
• Being able to lead a team
• Following SOP and Health and Safety protocol
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
